Chiropractors practice primarily using their hands, providing diagnosis, treatment and preventive care for disorders related to the spine, pelvis, nervous system, muscles and joints. Modern chiropractors use a combination of treatments such as joint manipulation, various soft tissue therapies, acupuncture, strengthening and mobilizing exercises and more depending on each patient’s specific needs.

After taking a history, performing a thorough examination and establishing a diagnosis, a chiropractor can develop and carry out a comprehensive treatment/management plan, recommend therapeutic exercise and other non-invasive therapies, and provide nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counselling.

The most common treatment that chiropractors are known for is Spinal Manipulation Therapy (SMT). Specific training in SMT allows chiropractors to provide highly-skilled and safe adjustments to the vertebrae of the spine and other joints in order to reduce pain and improve function.

Treatment plans are designed based on your goals and what you’re comfortable with. Dr. Kiely will walk you through the process step by step, to help you understand your diagnosis, treatment plan, and strategies you can use to improve you health.
